【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforethyleneglycolorpropyleneglycolbaseenginecoolantsusedinautomobilesorotherlightdutyservicecoolingsystems.Whenconcentratesareusedat40to70%concentrationbyvolumeinwater,orwhenpredilutedglycolbaseenginecoolants(50volume%minimum)areusedwithoutfurtherdilution,theywillfunctioneffectivelytoprovideprotectionagainstfreezing,boiling,andcorrosion.Thecoolantsgovernedbythisspecificationarecategorizedasfollows:Note1-Thisspecificationisbasedontheknowledgeoftheperformanceofenginecoolantspreparedfromneworvirginingredients.Thisspecificationshallalsoapplytoenginecoolantspreparedusingglycolgeneratedfromrecycledorreprocessedusedcoolantorreprocessedindustrial-sourceglycol,providedthatsaidglycolmeetstherequirementsofSpecificationE1177.Separatespecifications(D6471andD6472)existforenginecoolantspreparedfromrecycledorreprocessedusedcoolantorreprocessedindustrial-sourceglycolthatdoesnotmeettherequirementsestablishedinSpecificationE1177.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note2-Thisspecificationappliestoautomobilesandlightdutyservice.SpecificationsD4985andD6210existforheavydutyengineservice.
