【摘要】:Theatmosphericexposuretestsdescribedinthispracticewillevaluatethestabilityoftheadhesivebondonlyintermsofaparticularnaturalatmosphere.Sincetheatmosphericconditionsvarygreatlyfromyeartoyear,theseresultswillnotbeasreproducibleasthosederivedfromlaboratoryagingprocedures.Considerableresearchhasshownthatlaboratoryartificialweatheringtestswillnotgiveconsistentlygoodcorrelationwithoutdoortestexposures(2,3,4).1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocedureforthedirectexposureofadhesivebondedjointsandstructurestonaturalatmosphericenvironments.1.2Theprocedureforshelteredatmosphericexposure,suchasaStevensonscreen(1),ofadhesive-bondedjointsandspecimensisthesameexceptfortherequirementsoffacingsouthandmeasurementofsolarradiation.1.3Thispracticeislimitedtotheprocedurebywhichsamplesareexposedanddoesnotcovertheteststhatmaybeusedtoevaluatetheeffectsofatmosphericexposureontheseadhesive-bondedjointsandstructures.Thesesamplescouldbeanyoneofseveralvarieties.1.3.1Acompletestructurefortest,1.3.2Asectionofastructurefortest,1.3.3Acompletestructureorsectionwithstrengthobservationsonspecimenscuttherefrom,1.3.4Testspecimensthemselves,or1.3.5Anyoftheabove,mountedunderstress.1.4Suitabletestmethodsforevaluationoftheeffectsofexposureincludenondestructivequalitativeorquantitativeobservationsonthesamesampleatprescribedintervals,ordestructivetestsonseparatesetsofspecimensinaccordancewithsuchtestsasTestMethodD1002.Note1-SeeTestMethodsD896andD897.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
